My name is Jie Lidi. Today, my topic is: “Confidence”. As we all know, failure is the mother of success. But What I want to say is that success is the child of confidence. Without confidence, things can become negative and uncomfortable. I remember, during an English class, I wanted to make a sentence using the word "listen". I should have said: "I listen to the Voice of America" but I was too nervous and said "I listen to the Noise of America". Everybody in the class laughed. Since then I wanted to train myself to be confident. Now, confidence makes me brave and courageous. Take this speech for example. I wanted to enter this competition, but I would feel very embarrassed if I made mistakes. Just then, I thought about my dream. My dream is to become a scientist when I grow up. If I am not confident, how can I overcome difficulties I face? If I am not confident, how can I succeed in developing myself in the future? I will do it! At that moment i was moved, and even moved into tears, because i knew my father was injured not long before,the process of helping me with the affairs was not so convenient for him. but he tried his best to help me. sometimes we may complain about unsatisfying things around us,and blame them on our parents,sometimes they"ll be angry with us, and sometimes we can"t quite understand what they are thinking about. but on balance, almost every parent is selfless to his or her child.

In one part of the United States, for example, the deer there like to eat a kind of wild flowers. The mountain tigers there eat the deer. But people killed many mountain tigers to protect the deer. soon there were so many deer that the ate up all the wild flowers. Then the deer began to eat the green leaves of the young trees .so the farmers thought of ways to protect their trees, then the deer had nothing to eat and many of them died.
The number of trees, deer, tigers, wild flowers and plants has changed much—less and less. We need to do more to keep the balance of nature.

Well, its quite a question argued by people all the time. I think a persons personality has little relation to his family economic level. Its commonly said that a child in rich family will has more chances and better choice for his study. However, if the kid himself isnt aware of this, that is all in vain. Its not unusual that many children from rich family are quite rude and conceited although they are always receive the best education. Then, how about the poor familys children? There is another saying that adversity cultivates heroes. To be honest, I disagree with it too.
Poor children should learn harder and catch every chance to strengthen themselves. However, the reality is often not like that. Subjectively speaking, poor children are easy to feel inferior and thus cant study well. Even if they study well, they hardly do well in practicing ability. Objectively speaking, poor children can hardly receive good and plentiful education because of the economic limit. That will cause deficiency in some literal or artistic talent such as music or dance. Therefore, I think childrens personality have little relation to their family situation.

Whats worse, the animalistic instinct dormant deep in our subconsciousness will come to life, weakening our will to pursue our noble ideal, sapping our determination to sweep away obstacles to our success and strangling our desire for the refinement of our character.
Lack of learning will inevitably lead to the stagnation of the mind, or even worse, its fossilization, Therefore, to stay mentally young, we have to take learning as a lifelong career.
